Plan Implement Evaluate PIE Essay

PIE MODEL PIE

The task is to teach the students about the commercial fishing impact on the seal population in the ANWR area. Completion would be determined by the students showing a good understanding of what all is going on.

The students, given that they are in a biology class, should have an understanding of animals and life forms like seals and the fish that are being harvested in ANWR

Resources that could/would be available include DVD movies, streaming movies, text books, visual diagrams and charts, etc.

Information that should be included would be what is involved in the fishing process in ANWR and places like it, why seals are endangered and impacted by that activity and so forth.

An appealing way to teach the students would be to appeal to how "cute" the seals are and/or why the impact to them can be mitigated or avoided

The best methods would be interactive media such as computer applications or visual exhibits. Just speaking to them or a simple video might work but not nearly as well as something that requires student feedback

When the similar learning situations are done, parallels and similarities than be drawn between...

Students with special needs will be given special attention but should be integrated with the other groups if at all possible
An eye out will be given to make sure students remain engaged and are not disengaging from the learning process. If they are doing so a lot, it may call for different methods/intervention tactics.

Reviews and tests are the best way to make sure the students are paying attention and retaining the information. Having a variety of students answering direct questions to the class aloud would help, too

The degree to which the material is learned would be strong if the correct answers keep coming even when the questions get harder. If/when there is a drop-off, that would be a sign of where they are.

An assessment of what worked well and what did not would guide how…
